Aim: To prepare and submit 100 ml of Borax glycerin (glycerite).
Requirements: Borax, Glycerin, Mortar and pestle, Beaker.
Theory: Glycerites are solutions or mixtures of medicinal substances in glycerin, containing not less than 50% by weight of glycerin. Most of the glycerites are vicious, while some have a jelly-like consistency. Glycerin is an important pharmaceutical solvent forming permanent and concentrated solutions. Borax glycerin glycerite is used as a bacteriostatic agent.

Procedure:
- Weigh the calculated amount of borax and glycerin.
- Powder the borax and triturate with glycerin. Warm gently with constant stirring and filter it, if necessary.
