Hygiene and Health: Hygiene word is derived from the Greek term ‘Hygeia’. Hygeia means ‘Goodness of Health’.

  • According to the WHO, Hygiene refers to conditions and practices that are used to maintain health and prevent the spread of disease.
  • Physical hygiene means continued physical health. Hygiene is defined as science and art, which is related to the protection and promotion of good health.
  • Health, as defined by the WHO, is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not just the absence of disease. Life can be defined as the ability to improve physical, mental, and social irritation for a lifetime.

Types Of Health

Health is of two types Le, Physical health and Mental health.

1. Physical Health: Physical health is defined as a life free of illness or injury.

  • Maintain physical fitness.
  • Regular exercise.
  • Eat whole foods (Rich in all nutrition).
  • Adequate rest for physical health.
  • Regular exercise and proper exercise can protect and improve a person’s breathing endurance.
  • Heart function, flexibility, muscle strength.

2. Mental Health: Mental health means a person’s emotional, mental, and social health. Mental health is important for good health. Mental health is not just about the absence of anxiety, depression, and any other disturbance.

  • Mental health depends on:
  1. Feeling of safety and security.
  2. Making a significant contribution to the communities.
  3. Adapt the difficulties.
  4. Staying positive.
  5. Helping others.
  6. Connect with others.

Types Of Hygiene

1. Industrial hygiene: It is defined as identification, anticipation, control, assessment, and assurance of occupational hazard or risk that may result in illness, injury, or affect the health of the employee.

2. Community hygiene: Community hygiene is a group of people. These people have a responsibility to improve the quality of life of the community, to focus more on sanitation and the living conditions in the village.

3. Personal hygiene: Personal hygiene can be defined as keeping one’s body clean and hygienic.

1. Personal hygiene can be defined as keeping the body clean. Cleanliness is a broad term that encompasses a person’s particular characteristics:

  • Bathing regularly
  • Change clothes regularly
  • Wash your hands
  • Cut your nails
  • Brushing teeth

Some Avoidable Habits

Some common habits that should be avoided:

  • Eating at the working desks.
  • Leaving the dirty dishes around the public locations.
  • Sneezing and not covering mouth with a tissue.
  • Not flushing the toilet.
  • Not washing the hand properly after using toilets.
  • Using dirty spoons and utensils
