Assay of Citric Acid (Anhydrous) 

Molecular formula: C₆H₈O₇ 

Molecular Weight: 192.12 

Assay: Weigh accurately about 2 g, dissolve in 100 mL of water, and titrate with 1 M sodium hydroxide using phenolphthalein solution as indicator. The endpoint will be colorless to pink. Carry out a blank titration.

3 Moles of NaOH ≅ 1 Mole of Citric acid 

3000 mL of 1M NaOH ≅ 192.12 g of C₆H₈O₇   

1 mL of 1M NaOH ≅ 0.06404 g of C₆H₈O₇
